In this show we recap Dave's experience at cf.Objective(). Dave talks about the sessions he attended as well as how his talks went. We also talk about the 100th show recording and how that went. We then talk about the upcoming Adobe Developer Week that is coming June 20th - 24th.
After all that we talk about a new site called mobjectify.com. This site allows you to build mobile sites using jQuery Mobile right in your browser. This has to be one of the coolest things I have seen in a while.
Entries for month: May 2011
Here it is, the live show from cf.Objective(). In this show we talk about the conference keynote. We also have a chat with Ben Forta about a wide range of topics. We also talk with the great live audience we had and answer some of their questions. You will hear a reference to Mr. Connery from Scott. He is actually talking to Mike Brunt who, looks a lot like Sean Connery.
We had a great time doing the show. It was a lot of fun having Scott Stroz on the show to help out. It was also just as exciting to have Ray Camden join us as well. For a run down of how the show went take a look at the recap that was posted here.
We started preparing for the show on site early in the day. We did a few test runs with CodeBass Radio to get the kinks worked out. Once that was done all that was left to do was to wait for the lightning talks to end. Sometime about an hour before the show I actually got a little nervous and panicked a little bit. I got some "comforting" words from Ray Camden and Scott Stroz I felt better I think.
The lightning talks ended and we were on. Our first problem was that we had an audio issue in the room. There was a huge echo that was not caused by the room. The mics were picking up the in room audio. It took us about 10 minutes or so to get passed that. Once that was out of the day we were ready to go.
We had Mike Becker on Skype and Scott Stroz on stage. We were even lucky enough to have Ray Camden join us on stage for the show. The audience had about 30 people and a bunch of people online.
The show itself went well. The interview with Ben Forta went well. We did pre-record it but it was still fine. If anyone was disappointed that he was not there live, we apologize. We talked about the conference, Dreamweaver (of all things), and slew of other things. We had great audience participation and feedback. We answered some questions that were posed to us and deflected the ones we couldn't answer.
Personally for me, I had a great time. I was nervous about the broadcast but everything went well. I am very happy with the support we have received. I am looking forward to doing the next 100 shows.
A special thank you to all that were involved and helped out with the show.

We have been keeping the identity of our special guest a secret for a while. But now, it is time to reveal his identity.
Our special guest for our 100th show will be none other than the one and only Ben Forta. It will be great to sit down and talk with Ben about all things Adobe and ColdFusion.
As a reminder, our 100th show will be live from cf.Objective() on Thursday 5/12 at 10pm. It will be directly following the Lighting Talks.
As we are getting closer to our 100th show we have some exciting news to share.
We will have a special guest on the show that should be exciting for all. We should be able to announce who that will be later in this week.
Since Mike will not be onsite for the show; I wanted to have an onsite co-host that can help out with stuff. To that end I have enlisted the assistance of the great Scott Stroz. His witty repartee will be a welcomed addition and will enhance what is already turning into a great event.
The time and place of the show has changed. We will still be doing it live at cf.Objective. However, we will now be doing it at 10pm right after the conclusion of the lightning talks. Actual location is still TBD but it may be in the same room as the lighting talks.
The show will still be broadcast live on CodeBass Radio for those not at the conference. If you have the MediaSlurp app you will be able to listen there.
The 100th show is actually now on the cf.Objective() schedule. http://www.cfobjective.com/index.cfm/schedule/
Raffle.. yes.. we will be Raffling some things off. Below is the current list of raffle items. You have to come to the show and get a raffle ticket. However, you need not be present to win.
- ColdFusion Builder 2 courtesy of Adobe
- 1 year subscription to FusionDebug courtesy of Intergral
We will also have some schwag and other things to give away.
So, hang out after the lighning talks and join the party. We should have an extra mic for anyone to come up and say a few words if they choose.
Lastly, I want to give a big thank you to Vicky Ryder. She has spent a lot of time assisting us with putting this together. This would not have been possible without all her efforts.
Thanks,
--Dave
